Matthew Triplett | Founder and Creative Director

Matt's diverse background gives him a unique perspective on the convergence of psychology, technology and design. His ability to thoughtfully develop a concept from spark to iteration to success makes him a key participant in every Sparkplug project. Prior work experience includes positions at Wieden+Kennedy and Addis, where he specialized in technology and web development. At Microsoft and the University of Oregon he focused on usability research and teaching. He has a B.A. from The Evergreen State College where he studied psychology and anthropology. He also holds a Teaching Credential from Saint Mary's College of California.

Andrew Berkowitz | Development Director

Andrew's background in communication and technology helps ensure that site designs and Web applications focus on meeting the needs of the user. His background in interactive media has included the title of Senior Web Developer at Eye Cue Productions, where he also produced advertising for television, radio and print. Andrew also publishes regularly in magazines and newspapers, has worked as a reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle, Palo Alto Weekly, and as an editor at the Anchorage Daily News. He holds a B.A. in Linguistics from Stanford University.

Terry Taylor | Behavioral Science Director

Terry's background is in education and programmed learning, with a focus on psychology, history, art, and humor. He began his career by writing advertising copy for radio and TV commercials, and then transitioned his talents into creating interactive tests for social studies curricula. Today he specializes in the behavioral psychology of web users, working to ensure that projects effectively engage the user and achieve the desired final outcomes. His poorly hidden agenda is to integrate as much wit and humor into a web project as possible. He has a B.A. in Education with a major in Psychology from Central Washington State University.

Traci Smolen | Project Director

Traci's ability to effectively manage complex projects is a result of her background in education, technology, and business. Her talent for clearly defining objectives and then identifying the technologies and resources that work well to meet those objectives makes her an invaluable asset to both Sparkplug and our clients. Prior work experience includes positions at Intel, Shoreline School District, and the U.S. Peace Corps. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Pomona College and a M.A. in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University.
