It's the rare client who reads our intensive customer research results and then puts their complete faith in us by accepting all of our recommendations. The folks at Ski.com were just such a client. Our customer interviews revealed in precise detail what their customers did (and didn't) want. So we started by designing a home page that was clutter-free and showcased the top four tasks that customers wanted. We then added something completely original: interactive 3D maps of the best ski resorts, designed to make exploring a potentially new vacation spot as easy as possible. And in order to build a friendship between Ski.com and their customers, we created the "Ski.com Theater" — a club-like semi-hidden area for hilarious ski movies, photos, and jokes. The result of our efforts has been a dramatic increase in sales and customer retention.
