Project Summary:
Oregon State University selected Sparkplug to design a website for two recently merged departments. At the outset, OSU shared with us their concerns about their reputation: that they were seen as a "moo school", less flashy than larger universities, and "in the middle of nowhere". Rather than avoid those issues, our approach was to take these so-called "disadvantages" and turn them on their head by showcasing the incredibly positive aspects of the very things OSU was concerned about. The new design gives a glimpse into the vibrant, fun culture at Oregon State while also conveying their serious focus on engineering and technology education. The result is fresh and clever, knocks the stereotype of engineering as a necessarily serious endeavor, and positions OSU as the go-to school for aspiring engineers everywhere.
